Intro to Legal Systems

Credit 1

Description: The primary content for the course pertains to the study of the components and processes associated with the American legal system and the comprehensive examination of the civil and criminal justice systems. Content should include, but is not limited to, the historical antecedents for law, reason for laws, civil and criminal law, social values and their impact on the establishment and interpretation of laws, causes and consequences of crime, comparison of adult and juvenile justice systems, significance of the Bill of Rights to the American legal system, family and consumer law, rights and responsibilities under the law, and importance of the adversarial relationship in American jurisprudence.

Personal Finance

Credit 1

Description: This course covers the ideas, concepts, knowledge and skills that will enable teens to make positive decision-making choices, to become wise, successful, and knowledgeable consumers, savers, investors, and learn the skills to pay the bills!

Digital Marketing

Credit 1

Description: Digital marketing encompasses all marketing efforts that use an electronic device or the internet. Businesses leverage digital channels such as search engines, social media, email, and their websites to connect with current and prospective customers. Digital marketing is defined by the use of numerous digital tactics and channels to connect with customers where they spend much of their time: online. From the website itself to a businessʼs online branding assets — digital advertising, email marketing, online brochures, and beyond — thereʼs a spectrum of tactics that fall under the umbrella of “digital marketing.

Music Lab (Girls Only)

Credit 1

Description: Students will explore music as a means of spiritual connection, self expression, and growth.

Spanish 101

Credit 1

Description: The course objective is to introduce basic aspects of the Spanish language. In this course, you will learn about the relationship between nouns and gender as well as how to discuss topics such as the weather, likes and dislikes, the days of the week, months of the year, and how to tell time.

Principles of Finance

Credit 1

Description: Roles in Finance arenʼt only about numbers; they require interpersonal skills as well. The world of Finance includes many disciplines, and Finance personnel are critical to the teamʼs function and success. In Principles of Finance, we familiarize students with many aspects of finance, including accounting, and the management of the assets, liabilities, equity, and cash flow. This course also covers financial analysis like ROI and ROE, financial planning, and various financial services like banking, insurance, and securities and investments.

Computer Sciences

Credit 1

Description: Students will learn the fundamentals of computer sciences including but not limited to using Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.), building a website, and using common web design programs.

Executive Management/Leadership

Credit 1

Description: Topics covered include Human Phycology, Financial Planning, Communication, Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, and a Growth Mindset.

Fundamentals of Life Skills & Leadership

Credit 1

Description: Corollary course to Executive Management and Leadership taught at in a different section. Students may take only one of these two courses. Topics covered will include emotional intelligence, a growth mindset, leadership, communication skills, executive planning, and basic human psychology.
